Happy Valentine's Day. Time is once again flying by. Here we are, over half the season is over and we are rejoicing in our wonderful predicament of being here in paradise and having all this fun. Lots of people these days and lots of great music going on all around us. We are so blessed.
We will do it again on March 4th. We are heading up the mountain with Philo, Oscar and the Mexican Shuffle Band to San Sebastian. So if you want to go please let me know soon. Here are the details.
San Sebastian is a 400 year old silver mining town of 600 people surrounded by pine trees and tequila farms located in the Mountains two hours from Puerto Vallarta. For more info and a cool video of San Sebastian click
HERE. And, for some great pics of our last few trips check out the photos by clicking

So.... it is an overnight trip with Philo and the Mexican Shuffle Band to San Sebastian. We provide a room for one night, a catered dinner, a next day brunch and a concert which is held in the hotel/old fort located in the center of town. After the concert we build a campfire and play, sing and drink Tequila till the wee hours. The cost for all this will be $70 usd or (850 pesos) per person.
Next Wednesday, Feb 22nd we are having one of our annual benefits for the community. This one is for my favorite charity, "The Friendship club of La Cruz." Tickets are going fast. Tatewari, Philo and the Mexican Shuffle Band and the "La Cruz Children's Folkloric Dance Troupe will be performing." All this makes for a wonderful heart felt evening.
This benefit for the Friendship Club will be an all you can eat BBQ Rib Buffet. Tickets are on sale right here at Philo's or from one of our many friendship club helpers.
This Friday there will be a memorial service at Anna Banana's at 4 pm for our beloved Hock. Our long-time musician friend Hock has passed away in La Cruz late last Saturday night. He was a well-known local musician and song writer best known for writing "I want to drink and drive" and "The big Bucerias Bust". He battled drinking for many years and it finally got the best of him. And this is, so aptly said by our friends Bill and Gene, "for the musicians in La Cruz is the end of an era."

On February 15th and March 15th, from 11AM until 3PM, the ARTS FOR THE TURTLES fundraiser fiesta will take place at Bahia del Sol resort in Nuevo Vallarta. Through AMA Mexico, or the Association for Mexican Environmental Unity, these events support the Nuevo Vallarta Sea Turtle Preserve.
Sea turtles are a keystone species, a true indicator of the health and vitality of sea life and the Banderas Bay future generations will know. The Campamento Tortugero protects over nine thousand nests annually in an effort to return us to sustainable turtle populations. It is the largest camp in Nayarit, and presents sunset hatchling "liberaciones", which you are also invited to attend. The Preserve depends on these events to support the ongoing protection of the threatened Olive Ridley species.
Numerous local artists will provide paintings, sculptures, baked goods, and artistry of various disciplines. There will be a live auction, a special luncheon by the Seahorse Restaurant, live music, and much more on the oceanfront terrace. Admission is free. Come and have a great time while saving the turtles.
